Pictures, Yay!

I'm back on the computer so I can add pictures. David is in California for work and Indigo is sleeping soundly. She's had a busy week!

Monday night we went to church with Daddy to help him get ready for Easter. I brought  the pack and play so she could be contained and I could help more. She did not like this! But once I could focus on her she was happy and I put her to sleep in the pack and play and it was very good. David was able to work for another 90 minutes while she got some decent sleep (as opposed to my arms or a blanket on the floor).
Then on Tuesday, we went to the Gilbert church campus and this time, Daddy was SMART! He put her in the crib and set up the iPad outside the crib and played "Yo Gabba Gabba" for her. She was mesmerized! We're either brilliant or setting ourselves up for trouble by using TV so early. I don't mind that she watches TV. I just want to keep it special and not feel the need to rely on it too much.

Last night David was gone and one of my gym moms took her home to hang out. Her 10-year-old daughter couldn't get enough of Indigo and they both said how well behaved and fun she was. That makes me happy! I love that she is so good natured and happy to be around other people. Tonight she came to the gym with me and another coached watched her. She hung out with my girls while we warmed up. I love how much the little kids love her. Probably because I never really liked babies when I was younger.

We just skyped with Daddy (Miss-I'm-Sleeping-Soundly woke up to guzzle down a bottle). It was so fun! She got super excited when she saw him. He sang to her and she played patty-cake. So awesome. He comes home tomorrow and can't wait to see his little girl. Sometimes he just starts laughing about how much he loves her. A Daddy's Girl in the making, I think.

I'm glad I took the time to organize Indigo's clothes this weekend. I set everything up as outfits so we can grab a handful and she'll look nice. I still have a drawer of jeans and a drawer of tops/onesies but these are now on the bottom so they aren't our go-to outfits anymore. She's got some fun summer clothes that I'm excited about. I hope we can keep her cool as the weather starts to heat up. It's hard to remember how much I love living here when it's 120 degrees in July. But I do love living here. And I love my life and my family. I am so blessed!

Posts Without Pictures are Less Fun

So I was really excited to post tonight because I hadn't in a while, even though I promised to. But I'm using the iPad because David is using both computers to file his expense reports so we can pay our credit card at the end of the month. But the iPad doesn't do pictures or formatting very well. We basically just had an awesome day. I'm finally feeling better (I got so sick last week and spent most of Wednesday in bed). We went to church today and it was a great service. Indigo slept in the nursery the entire second service so she was ready to go when we finished at 1:00. David has been replacing his wardrobe with clothes that are better suited for his new role at RC Lurie. So we drove to the outlets north of Phoenix to visit the Polo store. Unfortunately, they did not carry size XLT. I saw they had a Stride Rite store and since we don't actually know her size, we popped in to get measured and left with a cute pair of white Mary Janes with a flower and pink "hiking" sandals. Size 4, one wide and one not - if anyone is shopping for her! They should fit for 3-4 months and then we'll have to buy more. Then we bought out the OshKosh store. Well, not quite, but we got some cute spring outfits. Lunch was next. This girl LOVES her some rice!! Black beans and chicken were ok too. But the best part was the ice cream! She got super upset when it was gone. She kept making the 'more' sign and crying. I said 'all done' and finally she got the hint. She takes after me I think. There is always room for ice cream. We went back to town and ran to the Biltmore Center. Played on the lawn for a bit and David got a few shirts at Macy's. got home and daddy fed her while I reorganized her clothes with what fits and bagged up a ton of clothes for a friend who is having a baby girl in August. I came out of her room and she was feeding daddy Cheetos! So cute! She passed out around 8:00 and we are off to bed soon ourselves to start a new week.

...And We're Back

Better pictures to come
of our fairy princess!
Gosh, it's been awhile since my last post. Life has been super crazy. I think the biggest roadblock has been my failure to take any pictures lately. Indigo has been transitioning to the one's room at school. Since she is walking confidently and is ready to do more than they offer in the infant room we started moving her over. It hasn't been easy. The kids take one longer nap a day rather than two or more as needed in the infant room, and the ratio is slightly higher. They do activities and sing songs together, and she loves that. But she kept coming home and having meltdowns and I wasn't sure what to do.

I found the outfit at Ross

I had a long conversation with the daycare owner about her transition. I didn't feel the same level of love and involvement from all the teachers as she had in the infant room and her daily sheets were coming back basically blank. I didn't know when she ate or if she finished all her food and basically had no idea what she actually did all day. I had the conversation a week ago and things have been much better since. The teachers let me know how her day was and her sheet is full of comments about what she liked about the day, etc. I know it's a little thing, but she's away from us for almost 10 hours a day. It's nice to know what she has been up to and how she felt during the day. It's also helpful to know when she ate last so I know if she is coming home hungry or if we have some time to hang out before dinner.

The good news is she has been sleeping through the night for the last two weeks. It really is amazing how much a full night's rest helps me feel more human. It's important to get as much as we can every night because our weekends are so busy with church and other activities. This weekend we are helping with Actors Theatre's annual Gourmet Theatre fundraiser. David is going tomorrow to get lights and sound ready and set the stage for the reception. I'm going Sunday to help with the event and after people leave to their dinner reservations, David is driving in to switch the baby and tear down the event.

TV time with Daddy
Tomorrow night I have Parents Night Out at the gym. I'm not sure how many kids we'll get as it is spring break. But there should be at least 70 I hope. I'm so glad David and I have been able to work out our schedules so that I can keep coaching. I just love my girls so much! I enjoy the Rec Team and am glad we have an option for the kids that are finished with classes but the competitive team isn't the right fit. Our team coaches are awesome, but it is a big commitment with time, money and drive to be on team so it isn't right for everyone. The Rec Team is a nice alternative for a lot of the girls. I love that Aspire can meet the needs of so many kids. It is a fantastic gym and I am so glad I coach there!

Basically, we're still here and Indigo is doing well. I hope to make a renewed effort for some picture taking. She got some amazingly cute outfits for her birthday that I have to get her into! So stay tuned and check back for more updates.

Back to Normal

At the Grandparents
It's been just about a week since David came back from the Wisconsin trip. It's very evident that Indigo likes to have both of us home. She seems calmer, like "yes, this is what is right, I like this!" She's doing better at daycare because of this also. Early last week she cried when I left her and was crying when I picked her up - no good! But now she's back to "bye, Mom." I think she is still adjusting to the new nap time, though. She crashed at 7:15 tonight.

It's funny transitioning rooms at daycare. The infant caregivers LOVED Indigo so much. I think they love all the babies, but they just took such good care of her when she was so little and I started back to work. It was nice to have their expertise about what was 'normal' and what to expect with this itty bitty baby. Now, we have a routine set and things that we like and don't like, but I don't feel that we've had the same level of contact with the one's teachers. But I think we're getting there. It's a different focus in that room, also. It's less baby-led and more of a class. I think this is a good thing, we just all need to get used to it.

So Grown Up
David went to our HOA meeting tonight. We've lived here 4 years and have never been to a meeting. They only have them twice a year, so it's not too surprising. He's going to check it out and find out what they are doing with all the money we pay them! Specifically, if we have lots of vacancies in the association, are the rest of us subsidizing the groundskeeping, etc. We're wondering if the association goes after people who have foreclosed or if we are out of luck. And if we DO have enough money in the budget, can we do things to the buildings like re-stucco the bad ones or replace ALL the fences instead of spot-replacing the really bad ones. The inside of my house is great and I love it and I think the next owner will love it. But we also have to sell the neighborhood and that is what the association is supposed to do.

So Big!
I was good about taking pictures for a while and I have gotten out of the habit. She was so needy and loving her took precedence. But she has some fun birthday clothes and accessories I want to get pictures of and send to people.
Indigo and Grandma Carol

Tonight, after she had a little bath she seemed to need some winding down, so we sat together in the chair and she laid her head on my shoulders and ate mango together. She would take a piece and then feed me pieces too. Even kitty had some! It was precious.

I promise to prioritize taking more pictures!
